Catering for Weddings in Miami and South Florida
Miami Plate Catering cooks and serves catering for couples across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, the Florida Keys and the Treasure Coast. Three packages start at $75 per guest for weddings of 50 guests or more, before service charge and tax. We send a full quote, with every charge on its own line, within 24 hours.
- Cooked by our own team. A chef, an event coordinator, cooks and servers work your wedding, with about one team member for every 25 guests. Bartenders join when you add bar service.
- Three packages, priced per guest. Silver, Gold and Platinum differ in service hours, varieties of canapés and the way dinner is served. Prices and hours are in the packages block below, and the dinner style of each package follows it.
- A tasting before the wedding. For weddings, the tasting is free once you book, so you try the food before your guests do.
- Book early. Wedding dates in Miami fill up from October through May, and couples usually book 6 to 12 months ahead.
- Your date and guest count set the plan. Send the date, the area and a rough number of guests. We reply within an hour during business hours.
The quote lists the food price, the service charge, tax and any extras as separate lines.

You review the menu and the quote, then sign and pay the deposit. Tasting terms are below.

Confirm the final count
Menu and count are due 10 business days before the event. After that the count can only go up.

Event day and after
We set up, serve and clean our area, and pack leftovers on request. Tell us within 24 hours if anything was not right and we make it right with a credit, remake or refund.
Wedding Packages and Prices per Guest
Wedding packages start at $75 per guest for Silver, $95 for Gold and $125 for Platinum, with a minimum of 50 guests. Prices are before the service charge and Florida sales tax. Both appear as separate lines on your quote, so you see the total before you pay a deposit.

Example: 50 guests × $75 (Silver) = $3,750 before the service charge and tax.
What else you will see on your wedding quote:
- Service charge. 18% up to 100 guests, 15% for 101 to 200, 12% for 201 to 300 and 10% above 300. It covers staffing, setup and breakdown, and kitchen operations. It is not a tip.
- Sales tax. Florida's 6% plus the surtax of the county where your event takes place, 0.5% to 1.5%, on its own line.
- Gratuity. Optional, never added automatically.
- Extra service time. $5 per guest for each additional hour.
- Rentals. Tables, chairs, linens and tableware come through our partners, as a separate line.
- Children and vendors. Children under 3 eat free and ages 4 to 12 are 50%. Vendor meals are full price.
- Delivery. It depends on your address and is shown in your quote.

How Dinner Is Served With Each Wedding Package
The package you choose sets how dinner reaches your guests: a buffet with Silver, food stations with Gold and plated service to the table with Platinum. Bar service can be added to any package. We build the menu with you after you book, and you taste it before the wedding.
Silver: buffet service
Guests serve themselves from a buffet we set up for your 4 hours of service. Silver comes with 8 varieties of canapés.
Gold: food stations
Stations put different dishes at separate tables, so guests do not queue at one line. Gold comes with 10 varieties of canapés and 5 hours of service.
Platinum: plated dinner
Servers bring dinner to each table. Platinum includes 12 varieties of canapés and 5 hours of service.
Bar service
You bring the alcohol, and we provide the bartenders and mixers. Bar service is $10 per guest for mixers, $13 for beer and wine and $30 for a full bar, for 4 hours. This covers the bartenders and mixers; the alcohol is yours.
Vegan and kosher-style dishes
We have a fully vegan menu and vegan dishes in our other menus. We also cook kosher-style dishes. Kosher-style dishes. Not certified kosher and not prepared under rabbinical supervision.

Booking terms
Catering Booking Terms Without Small Print
These are the terms we put in your contract, in plain words.
Deposit, price lock and payment
50% after you approve the menu and quote, or 30% when you book 6+ months ahead. Your contract price does not change before the event. Pay by card, Zelle, ACH, check or cash; 4% off without a card.
Guest count and final payment
Due 10 business days before the event, 48 hours for office and yacht orders. You can reduce the count by up to 10% of the contract.
Cancellation
7+ days before: event credit with no expiry or a refund minus 30%. Less than 7 days: no refund. Drop-off orders: full refund up to 24 hours before delivery. If we have to cancel, we refund your deposit within 10 days and, less than 30 days out, help find a replacement and pay the price difference.
Rain plan
It’s Florida. We bring a tent or switch to a covered format, quoted in advance.
Tasting
Free for booked weddings and events of 100+ guests. Before booking, a tasting is $100, credited to your order if you book within 14 days.
Questions Before You Book Your Wedding Caterer
How much does catering for a wedding cost per person in Miami?
Our wedding packages start at $75 per guest for Silver, $95 for Gold and $125 for Platinum, before the service charge and sales tax. Both are separate lines on your quote. The package table above shows what each one includes.
How much does it cost to cater a wedding for 50 guests?
With Silver, 50 guests × $75 = $3,750 for the food. The service charge and sales tax come on top. For 100 or 150 guests, send your date and guest count, and the quote shows the exact total.
When should we book a wedding caterer?
As early as your date is set, ideally 6 to 12 months ahead. We ask for a deposit only after you approve the menu and the quote: 50%, or 30% when you book 6 or more months ahead.
Is a catering tasting included for weddings?
Yes. A tasting is free for weddings once you book. Before booking, a tasting costs $100, which counts toward your booking if you book within 14 days.
What is the minimum guest count for a catered wedding?
Wedding packages are for 50 guests or more. Full-service menus for smaller events start at 25 guests. Send your guest count and the quote shows the price.
Do you provide the bar at weddings?
Yes, as an add-on: we provide bartenders and mixers, and you bring the alcohol. Prices are in the bar service card above.
Do you offer vegan or kosher-style wedding menus?
Yes. We have a fully vegan menu, and vegan dishes can be added to our other menus. Kosher-style dishes. Not certified kosher and not prepared under rabbinical supervision.
What do children and vendor meals cost for wedding catering?
Children under 3 eat free, and ages 4 to 12 are 50%. Vendor meals are full price and are added to your guest count about 7 days before the event.
