Event Catering in Fort Lauderdale for Private Parties and Company Events
Miami Plate Catering takes event catering requests in Fort Lauderdale and across Broward County, which is part of our South Florida service area. Full service with our own staff starts at $45 a guest with a 25-guest minimum, and under 50 guests the price adds $10 a guest. Prices are before the service charge and sales tax. Every quote lists each charge on its own line, so you see the total before you pay a deposit.

A coordinator plans the food, the serving style and the timing around your guest list, and servers handle the buffet for the four hours included in the price.

Share the date and a rough guest count four to eight weeks ahead, and the coordinator builds the plan around your schedule.

Graduations and family reunions.
Every group pays a set price per guest, and from 100 guests the price drops $2 a guest at each step of 100, 200 and 300+.

Dinners for a few dozen guests.
Twenty-five guests is the smallest event with full service.
Three tiers cover the menus: base from $45 a guest, middle from $60 and premium from $78. Dishes are confirmed in your quote. We also have a fully vegan menu, so tell your coordinator how many vegan guests are coming.

Menu and count are due 10 business days before the event. After that the count can only go up.

Event day and after
We set up, serve and clean our area, and pack leftovers on request. Tell us within 24 hours if anything was not right and we make it right with a credit, remake or refund.

Booking terms
Catering Booking Terms Without Small Print
These are the terms we put in your contract, in plain words.
Deposit, price lock and payment
50% after you approve the menu and quote, or 30% when you book 6+ months ahead. Your contract price does not change before the event. Pay by card, Zelle, ACH, check or cash; 4% off without a card.
Guest count and final payment
Due 10 business days before the event, 48 hours for office and yacht orders. You can reduce the count by up to 10% of the contract.
Cancellation
7+ days before: event credit with no expiry or a refund minus 30%. Less than 7 days: no refund. Drop-off orders: full refund up to 24 hours before delivery. If we have to cancel, we refund your deposit within 10 days and, less than 30 days out, help find a replacement and pay the price difference.
Rain plan
It’s Florida. We bring a tent or switch to a covered format, quoted in advance.
Tasting
Free for booked weddings and events of 100+ guests. Before booking, a tasting is $100, credited to your order if you book within 14 days.
What Your Event Price Covers and What You Arrange
A full-service event price covers the food, the people who serve it and the gear at the buffet. Guest tables, chairs, linens, glassware and dessert plates are separate.
Included in the price
- The menu and its preparation by our own team.
- Staff sized to your guest count, about one team member for every 25 guests, drawn from a chef, a coordinator, cooks and servers.
- Buffet equipment and the setup of the serving area.
- Cleanup of the area we worked in, with leftovers packed if you ask.
- Tableware for the serving area, so the buffet is ready when guests arrive.
Not included, so you arrange it or we quote it
- Guest tables, chairs and linens.
- Glassware and dessert plates.
- Trash removal from the venue.
- Alcohol, which you supply for the bar.
We order rentals through partners and put them on their own line in your quote, so you can see what they add. If your venue provides tables and chairs, tell your coordinator, and that part of the line drops out.

How much does event catering cost in Fort Lauderdale?
Full service with staff starts at $45 a guest, plus a service charge and 7% Broward sales tax. The quote table above shows every line, and your own quote adds them into one total.
What is the cheapest way to cater a party?
Trays and delivery without staff cost less than full service. Trays run $65 to $95 a tray, ordered 48 hours ahead. With staff, the base tier from $45 a guest is our lowest full-service price.
What is the smallest event you cater?
Full service starts at 25 guests, and under 50 guests it adds $10 a guest. Smaller gatherings can order without staff, as described below.
Can I order event food without staff?
Yes. Office delivery without staff starts at 10 guests, and trays have a two-tray minimum. Delivery depends on your address and is shown in your quote.
Is the service charge on event catering a tip?
No. It is mandatory for events with staff and covers staff, setup and breakdown and kitchen operations. Tips are optional and never added automatically.
How far ahead should I book an event?
Private events need two to three weeks, company events four to eight weeks and weddings six to twelve months. A coordinator replies within an hour during business hours, and your full quote follows within 24 hours.
Do you cater events in Pompano Beach and Hollywood?

Do you offer vegan menus for events?
Yes. We have a fully vegan menu and vegan dishes in our other menus. Tell your coordinator how many vegan guests you expect, and the quote reflects it.
